The event was part of <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.zagat.com\/2013\/07\/30-under-30-sf-bay-areas-food-world-up.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zagat\u2019s 30 Under 30<\/a> festivities, which honors up-and-comers in the world of cuisine.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, did I mention it was free?<\/p>\n<p>Free food <em>always<\/em> tastes better, but the food and drink here were truly stellar. Above are two of my favorites. The drink, Alligator Alley, combines olive oil-infused gin (?!!), chartreuse, vermouth and a kina aperitif. Next to that: boquerones on toast!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Upstairs at Trick Dog\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-795\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kitchenetteblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/IMG_2565.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These tasty times took place at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trickdogbar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trick Dog<\/a>, a newish (and gorgeous) bar in the Mission.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-789\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Trick Dog\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-794\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kitchenetteblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/IMG_2559.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, the place was already pretty busy.<\/p>\n<p>We headed upstairs where we were greeted by St. Elmo\u2019s Punch.\u00c2\u00a0This dangerous concoction included rum, bitter-sweet liqueur, pineapple, coconut, lime and cava. Oh boy\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"arriving at happy hour, st. elmo's punch\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-792\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kitchenetteblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/3.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"St. Elmo's Punch\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-797\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kitchenetteblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/IMG_2569.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ham-dressed baby lettuces \u2013 I don\u2019t how these tasted as amazing as they did. The perfect not too sweet mini-dessert, and normally, I\u2019m <em>so<\/em> not down with cottage cheese. (I call shenanigans!) It had bourbon, Aperol, peach and lemon.
