Viral TikTok Cinnamon Rolls

Viral TikTok Cinnamon Rolls

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 50 minutes
Warm, gooey, and deeply cinnamon-y, these TikTok cinnamon rolls use buttery canned dough, a brown sugar and heavy cream bath, and get finished with a luscious cream cheese frosting. Soft in the center, sticky on the bottom, and melt-in-your-mouth on top—these rolls are dangerously good and ridiculously easy.
8 rolls

Ingredients

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 1 can Pillsbury Grands! cinnamon rolls 8 count; use the large, fluffy style with included icing packet
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream

Brown Sugar Topping

  • 4 tbsp (56 g) unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled (use salted for a sweet-salty vibe)
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar light or dark
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter softened (use salted for a sweet-salty vibe)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or substitute with maple syrup
  • 1 packet cinnamon roll icing from the can of cinnamon rolls
  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar sifted if clumpy

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Mixing bowls
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Arrange the unbaked cinnamon rolls in the dish, leaving a bit of space between each for spreading and puffing.
  3. Pour the heavy cream evenly over and around the cinnamon rolls, letting it seep into the gaps.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until combined. Spoon this mixture over the tops of the rolls.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30–40 minutes, until rolls are puffed and the edges look caramelized. Uncover for the last 5 minutes if you want more golden tops.
  6. Let the cinnamon rolls cool for 5–10 minutes before frosting them.
  7. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and fluffy. Add vanilla (or maple syrup), the icing packet from the can, and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy.
  8. Spread the frosting thickly over the warm cinnamon rolls. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Storage: Store covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat individual rolls in the microwave for 20–30 seconds (cover with a damp paper towel for extra softness), or reheat several rolls in a 300°F oven for about 10 minutes. For freezing, avoid frosting the rolls and freeze well wrapped; thaw overnight and frost after reheating.
Variations: Try maple syrup instead of vanilla in the icing for a cozy twist, add orange zest for brightness, or scatter chopped nuts over the top before baking. You can substitute homemade dough if you want to go extra, but the canned version is part of the magic.
